Industrial Processes

Whether monitoring feedstocks or effluent, or controlling reactor conditions, Pro-Oceanus Systems’ O₂, CH₄, CO₂ and TDG gas sensors are cost-effective, easily integrated and come in rugged chemically resistant housings.

Pro-Oceanus sensors are suitable for a variety of industrial applications from detecting gas leaks, to monitoring dissolved gases for algae production, to determining gas partial pressures and total dissolved gas pressure in industrial fluids and cooling water, to measuring CO2 saturation in consumer products such as wines and beer.

Accurate measurements of dissolved CO2 can be used to provide optimal concentrations for photosynthesis by algae and seaweeds, which in turn maximizes industry profit by reducing over-supply of gas. Similarly, dissolved CH4 can be measured in systems that use methane fermentation bioreactors to grow  methanotrophic bacteria. Control of methane concentrations ensures optimal growth rates while minimizing the amount of CH4 required.

Increases in dissolved gas pressure are a concern in use of many industrial working fluids, including,  coolants, transformer fluids, hydraulic fluids and lubricating oils. Processes in nuclear and thermo-electric power plants, manufacturing facilities, mining operations and processing plants rely on working fluids which can be affected by high dissolved gas pressures due to temperature changes, ageing pumps, ambient pressure variations, bubble entrainment and more.
